Hey there, I’m so glad you’re here! You being here means you think getting to know people is just as important as I do! Getting to know my wonderful clients is not only one of the favourite parts of my job but also one of the most important (in my humble opinion anyway!) If you’re planning on booking a photographer I think it’s vital you know that they’re your kinda person AND that you can trust them with the huge responsibility of capturing precious memories.

As I’m sure you’ve figured my name is Beth, I live in Poole, Dorset and have 2 fierce girls called Kyra (7) and Neve (2). I also happen to be a Wife to a slightly outnumbered Husband. Hats off to him, he lives in a house with 3 fiery women.

I discovered my love of photography when I became a Mum, I think most parents out there can relate to the need to capture every precious moment of your little ones childhood, each milestone and all the little moments in-between.

I am guilty of taking photos more than I tend to be involved in them, always searching for some pretty light or a memory I think I’ve got to preserve. To me it’s not just about taking a photo, I love to print my memories and create beautiful albums for me and my girls to look back on. I don’t know about you but my childhood is a bit of a blur and actually the memories I do have are all ones I happen to have photos of, I don’t think this is a coincidence!

I started off taking photos on a DSLR my Nana got me, before I had children it was everything and anything available to me! I was lucky enough to grow up in the beautiful seaside town of Swanage and was spoilt for choice. As I said, my love for photography really grew once I had my girls and photographing them was something I did daily (and still do). I wanted to learn how to document their childhood to the best of my ability and in March 2019 went on to gain my City and Guild accreditation in Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography and Digital Manipulation after an intensive course.

Shortly after completing my training I was asked to photograph a friend of a friends wedding and well, it took off from there. I had a super busy year focusing on my personal development, pathing the way for my future business and really discovering what makes me tick. I unearthed a love for fast paced weddings and super relaxed family photography and haven’t looked back since.

I like to think of myself as a storyteller, I always say I’m no author. The story is often there, sometimes going unnoticed and I’ve just learnt to really tune into the world around me, the emotions being felt and developed a bit of a talent for predicting what’s about to happen next (don’t worry, I don’t think I’m psychic I put it down to the art of observation!)

I approach each Wedding and each family shoot differently, I appreciate that we are all a little quirky different in our own way and structure my photography around each and every single on of my wonderful clients. Each and every single wedding I have shot as been totally unique from one another and I can say the same for the families I have photographed. Photography is personal to me and it’s personal to you too, which is why I believe getting to know my clients is absolutely fundamental to taking photos you’ll cherish.

So that’s a little bit about me, if you’d like to follow my work you can head over to instagram and I would love to get to know you too.
